Chapter 3

As the author points out clearly, it is tremendously important to be humble among your peers. The best leaders and worshipers are those who keep themselves in a place where that aren't proud. We also need to be servants around our friends. Leading is not being above everyone else, it is being below them, you need to look up to those you lead. Being humble is one of the most difficult tasks to accomplish as a leader.

This chapter definitely applies to the situation we are placed in as worship leaders on campus. We are here to set an example for our peers. If they see us serving and being humble around our class mates. If we act proud, or better than everyone around us, what kind of example is that? Humbleness is our most important tool as a worship leader, to allow others to follow us.

  1. I enjoyed how you talked about being more of being a servant around our friends. Worship doesn't always have to be in front of a crowd or a performance, it can just be a chat about God with our friends. I liked how in your reflection you talked more about your situation as a worship leader on campus, it really gave some good insight into your life.

  2. I like what you said about acting proud. There's no point in acting like we're better than everyone around us- we need to lead by examples. I also agree with Terra-Lynn, you gave us some good insight into your life.

  3. You are so right about us being the example of our peers. I like that you said we should be humble and serve our classmates. We are not being good examples when we are proud. Worship is constant because worship can be our attitudes of serving.

  4. It's so true what you said about us being leaders on campus! People will look to us outside of chapel to see if the way we live our lifes are genuine to the way we act during worship. It's important to remember that having a humble and servant attitude is key to being close to God and living the life Jesus lived while he was on earth.

  5. This definitely applied to our situation on campus. I agree with you that being humble is one of the hardest tasks we have. It's hard to keep a servant attitude in such a rigorous and competitive environment, but we can do it! Especially if we make the most of our times together to refresh, remind, and support each other.
