The First chapter of this book is one that really tells us how we should act away from the stage. The author explains his personal struggle with only worshiping on stage and not off stage. He did not feel a great connection with the Lord, which is the most important relationship as a worship leader. If we do not feel him off of the stage we will not feel him on the stage. Even great worship leaders struggle with this and it will be the most important thing we do.
I really liked that the author was willing to share that there was a time where he was not that close to the Lord. I think it is really important to share with others what we struggle with even if it is hard, and the author said this to everyone who reads this. Authors who do not hide themselves from their audience are the best ones. Like I said in an earlier post, I am excited to read more from him. This book will teach all of us how to be a worship leader in our lives.
I think what you said is so true. Most Christians show a front that everything is perfect, and that we don't face any struggles as a Christian. Showing that vulnerable side can help get others closer to God while also improving your relationship with him.
ReplyDeleteI liked that you said we have to be open about our struggles. As worship leaders, it is really easy to try to act perfect. However, we are more relatable to the congregation if we are open. I liked that you focused on worship leaders being vulnerable.
ReplyDeleteI believe we all have those moments of weakness. We all need to find a way back into the moment. We all need to accept the fact we are weak and we need God to be strong.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that honest authors are the best authors. For a book about as something as intimate as worship it is so important for the author to be open and honest about his own experiences.
ReplyDeleteHi Brennan, I really agree with what you said about the author's honesty. I think it's really important to be sincere and honest as a worship leader so that more people will connect with us, and in turn, God.
