Chapter two summary and reflection

The author starts by explain how he has such a hard time focusing on what the right thing to do is. He knows what he should do, but he still struggles like many of us do. One great thing that God gives us because of this, is his mercy. Without it we would be doomed to bathe in our sin for all of eternity, but God doesn't want that for. Like I have said so many times, Tom Kraeuter's most effective writing comes when he is most vulnerable, and our lifestyle should reflect that as well.

We, as leaders on the campus may feel like we need to be perfect, but most of the time, it is more important to show that we aren't. If our fellow students view us as unflawwed in our faith, they will believe that they cannot be like us and lead others. I am not saying we need to do naughty acts before our peers, but we need to let them know that struggling in their faith is OKAY. I have struggled in my faith, and I am sure many of you have as well, but it is very healthy for our faith.

  1. I like that you said that we have pressure to look perfect to the student body but we should be the opposite. If we act like our faith is perfect, no one would want to follow us because we are not able to relate to them. I like that you say struggling with faith is natural because it is. This message not only applies to us as worship leaders, but also our everyday lives.

  2. I agree with you that it is important to be vulnerable and open up to others. It is when we are vulnerable that we are the most sincere and other people can see that. This can lead to other people opening up to us and what we have to say about the gospel. We are all human and we all make mistakes, but this does not make us bad people. We are saved through Christ, not through our owen actions

  3. I totally agree with what you said, being vulnerable to the student body is more effective than showing them "you have it all together. As humans, we try so hard to make sure that everything is okay but we end up cracking because all the pressure of
This world. Being real and vulnerable is the best effective way to show them that it's okay to not be okay as long as we have Jesus.
